It is Saturday 30 June and we have moved on to Cloncurry, to a van park to catch up on some laundry and shopping and recharge various batteries (there are plenty of those!). We left Longreach yesterday and stopped overnight at Winton, in the backyard of the North Gregory Hotel, where we had dinner and watched a really good performance by a singer, who gave us the history of "Waltzing Matilda" - more on Winton next post.
Here are some final photos from Longreach:

BBQ time for our final afternoon at the LongreachWaterhole. There were about 80 rigs there this night, and we had some lovely people around us, very helpful with info on campsites and things to see. |

At the showground leaving Longreach - to fill the water tanks and service the toilet |

A brolga about to have a look into the van, or maybe search for some food in it until M shut the door |

It looked a bit annoyed, when the door shut! |

The Stockman's Hall of Fame at Longreach was worth the visit |

That top photo of all the rigs is absolutely fascinating.... I can hardly even imagine that many. Makes you think about how many there are travelling around the country right now!
ReplyDeleteI like the Weber in the foreground. I bet you had the best tasting food that night. Did you pick up any extra hungry travellers that night?
